The temperature reached 18 degrees Celsius today – the warmest it’s been around here so far this year! This week, however, makes one reflect on the icestorms that afflicted this area back in December (as can be seen above), for which the consequences can still be seen everywhere.

I was up in Acton for a regular dental checkup, and was amazed at the fallen trees that can still be seen all over Halton Hills, and the works crews that were all over that day scooping up the mounds of debris. Today, I noted on one of the local streets in Markham that the City has cut down several trees by the side of the road, as they were beyond hope of being able to recover from the damage they suffered.

The effects will be felt for years to come…
